A second U.S. sailor who went missing in a dangerous part of eastern Afghanistan was found dead and his body recovered, a senior U.S. military official and Afghan officials said Thursday.

A packed bus hit a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing 25 people aboard, and NATO announced that another U.S. service member has died in a rapidly rising monthly death toll.

One of two U.S. sailors missing in Afghanistan since last week has been confirmed dead and his body recovered, a NATO spokesman said Tuesday.
He said the family learned of his death Monday.
He said the sailor's mother is in Kingman, Ariz., but declined to give her name.
