    Oman sends plane to Iran amid bail efforts for Americans

    The Gulf state of Oman dispatched a private plane to Iran on Wednesday amid efforts toward a bail-for-freedom deal for two Americans jailed for spying — in a possible replay of the diplomatic exchange that freed a third member of the group last year.

    An Iranian court Tuesday set bail of $500,000 each for two American men arrested more than two years ago and convicted on spy-related charges, clearing the way for their release a year after a similar bail-for-freedom arrangement for the third member of the group, their defense attorney said.

    Lawyer: Iran sets bail for two jailed American men

    An Iranian court on Tuesday set bail of $500,000 each for two American men arrested more than two years ago and convicted on spy-related charges, clearing the way for their release a year after a similar bail-for-freedom arrangement for the third member of the group, their defense lawyer said.

    Iran: Lawyer for 2 U.S. hikers will appeal verdict

    The lawyer for two American men arrested more than two years ago in Iran and convicted on charges that include espionage said Sunday he will appeal the verdict and his clients' eight-year prison sentences.

    Lawyer: Iran spy trial for 3 Americans postponed

    Iranian authorities postponed the long-awaited espionage trial of three Americans on Wednesday, their lawyer said. Two of the accused, still jailed in Tehran, did not appear in court as expected, and the authorities gave no explanation.
