    Inexperienced US back line heads to World Cup

    Matt Besler and Geoff Cameron might hear it from every angle if they were paying any attention or had a moment's spare time. They could be reminded every day that this is the first time since 1990 the U.S. heads to a World Cup with no central defenders having played previous minutes in soccer's showcase event.

    U.S., Mexico play to a scoreless draw in World Cup qualifying

    A scoreless tie with Mexico moved the U.S. (1-1-1) into third place in World Cup qualifying for the North and Central American and Caribbean region after three of 10 matches, one point behind Panama (1-0-2). The Americans and Costa Rica have four points, but the Ticos are ahead on goal difference.

    D.C. United falls 1-0 to Kansas City in season finale

    Matt Besler scored in the 54th minute to lift Sporting Kansas City to a 1-0 victory over D.C. United on Saturday night, earning the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
