The Michigan State Police (MSP) is the state police agency for the State of Michigan. The department was founded in 1917 as a war-time constabulary and eventually evolved into the modern agency that it is today. The department's enlisted members are called Troopers or "Troops".     Whiteout conditions and slick roads lead to the deaths of two children and one adult in a 30-car pileup in Detroit. The two children who were killed appeared to be siblings, police said. The boy, 6, died on the scene and the girl, 9, died after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

    Police in Michigan said Saturday they'll use the time it takes to return a man suspected in a three-state stabbing spree that left five men dead to work out logistics and address concerns for his safety.

    Man arrested at Atlanta airport in stabbing spree

    A suspect in a string of 20 stabbings that terrorized people across three states and left five dead was arrested in front of startled passengers at an airport gate as he tried to board a plane for Israel, officials said Thursday.
