This photo released by Michigan State Police via the Kalamazoo Gazette shows a state trooper drawing his weapon during a traffic stop on US-12 near Sturgis in southwestern Michigan’s St. Joseph County. The trooper told a supervisor that the fatal shooting of a fellow trooper in 2013 was "at the forefront" of his mind at the time of the April 15, 2014, traffic stop. Authorities say that the trooper stopped an 18-year-old woman for speeding, handcuffing her and putting her in the back of his cruiser. She said she was speeding home after her father called to say their home had been burglarized. The trooper is on paid leave during an investigation. (AP Photo/Courtesy Michigan State Police)
