President Obama criticized the Venezuelan government's rights record and its ties to Iran and Cuba in comments to a Venezuelan newspaper.
Conjoined twin girls who were separated in a 20-hour operation were in critical condition on Friday and one was in danger of dying, according to the director of the Chilean hospital where they are being treated.
Maria Jose ran into cardiac problems that required her to be revived three times afterward, and Maria Paz continues clinging to life, said hospital director Osvaldo Artaza.
"We are conscious that we made every effort," Mr. Artaza said. "It's a moment of deep pain, of deep grieving."
