Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has appointed a Coptic Christian intellectual and a woman university professor as presidential assistants, his spokesman Yasser Ali announced.
Pakinam al-Sharkawi, a political sciences professor at Cairo University, was appointed assistant for political affairs, he added.
