    RG3, Redskins drop home opener 38-31 to Bengals

    The Washington Redskins' defense has tried it all early on this season in attempting to slow down opponents. Again, Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, it failed.

Robert Griffin III (10) goes airborne for the pylon, but the Redskins quarterback had stepped out of bounds a few yards back. Griffin carried 12 times for 85 yards and a touchdown in his FedEx Field debut.

    DALY: Redskins are never out of it with RG3 at the helm

    Given how the afternoon started, the Washington Redskins had no real business being in the game Sunday in the fourth quarter. They gave up a 73-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage. They trailed by 17 late in the first half -- and it would have been worse if not for a defensive score by Rob Jackson.
