    A federal jury on Friday convicted five officers from the New Orleans Police Department on 25 counts in connection with the federal prosecution of a police-involved shooting on the Danziger Bridge in the days after Hurricane Katrina and an extensive cover-up of those shootings.

    Jurors hear closing arguments in Katrina killings

    Hurricane Katrina gave no excuse for the carnage on a New Orleans bridge where police fatally shot two unarmed people and wounded four others in 2005, a federal prosecutor said in closing arguments Tuesday at the trial of five current or former officers.
