Almost 6.5 million encrypted passwords for the professional networking site LinkedIn were posted online by Russian hackers, the company said Wednesday.

The anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks on Monday began publishing 5 million e-mails stolen by hackers from the global intelligence firm Stratfor.

Nearly nude photos of actress Scarlett Johansson posted online this week prompted security specialists to warn that hackers can steal cellphone pictures over the Internet.

Call her the Mata Hari of cyberspace.
"I believe all negotiations should be done at the negotiation table," said Thomas Ryan, president of Chicago Firefighters Union Local 2, who said issues include pay and response times. "We do not want to make this a public forum because I don't think it helps either side."

"If someone has used the same password for a bank or e-mail account, they are vulnerable to daisy-chain attacks," he said.
