Arizona general manager Kevin Towers had been talking trade with Chicago White Sox GM Rick Hahn for a month when he arrived at the winter meetings last weekend and sent a text to Angels counterpart Jerry Dipoto.

"My fastball command was pretty good today," Skaggs said. "I threw a lot of first-pitch strikes. When the (curve) is going good, everything goes good. I was close to a few double plays today. Three times groundball went through the infield."
"I think it's going good and I'm healthy," Skaggs said. "I'm having fun and that's the important thing. I get to put on this uniform every day."
