How the government's punishing of the exposure of official wrongdoing can linger for years
Losing credibility, a journalist anywhere in the world becomes a predictable advocate to be taken seriously only by fellow advocates of that particular cause. Britain's National Union of Journalists is doing just that by proposing a boycott of Israeli goods in support of Palestinians decrying the Israeli "occupation." I've been a union organizer at a radio station where I worked and at the Village Voice. If I were a member of the National Union of Journalists, I'd resign immediately.
