While the city of Detroit is on the brink of bankruptcy, one developer sees an opportunity that can bring the city back to prosperity. Developer Rodney Lockwood wants Detroit to sell the city's Belle Isle Park for $1 billion to private investors who will then transform it into a utopia free of big government.

There is a lot of political turmoil in Puerto Rico since the Nov. 6 general election. The pro-statehood governor of the island was defeated by the pro-commonwealth candidate, and the election also resulted in the U.S. commonwealth's legislature flipping to the control of the pro-commonwealth party.
After a few months of relative peace on the budget front, Democrats and Republicans are readying for a party-defining, election-year fight over trillion-dollar-plus deficits and what to do about them.
