



I was at the White House to witness the arrival of the First Dog of the United States.
It was, predictably, a mad scramble as reporters got in position to get the best view.
It's a silly story, yes. But it's also one that translates into all languages and that every person I know has expressed interest in since Obama made his promise on Election Night that his daughters Malia and Sasha would get their dog.
With Bo at his feet, wagging his tail furiously, the president declared, "He's got star quality."
Bo already has his own “Big News” page on HuffingtonPost.com, and several people are “tweeting” in Bo's name on Twitter. (Though this is the most active.)
For the record, it wasn't all fluff. I did shout a question at the dog, who declined to comment.

Bo Obama was ready for his close-up, and after strutting around the White House South Lawn Tuesday the world knows a lot more about the most famous dog in America.
The Portuguese water dog rivaled models on the red carpet with all the camera clicks and press attention he received during his rollout as the first family's pet.
