Olsen to visit Andrews

← return to Chatter

Words you never want to hear: Player X will get a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews. Scott Olsen will be that player. The left-hander, bothered by soreness behind his throwing shoulder, will travel to Birmingham and be examined by the noted orthopedist on Monday. Acting GM Mike Rizzo said the club won't have a timetable for Olsen's return until Andrews has a chance to see him. But Rizzo did say the Nats will call up a starter from Class AAA Syracuse to pitch Monday against the Mets. The obvious two candidates would be Collin Balester and Shairon Martis.
