The Nationals have gone Hollywood, and not just in the physical sense.
Prior to tonight's game, a film crew was on hand to observe batting practice and take notes on the visiting team in preparation for a movie that will feature our hometown nine.
"How Do You Know?" is the working title of a James L. Brooks romantic comedy in which Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd will be vying for Reese Witherspoon's attention. Wilson's will be playing a Nationals relief pitcher, so the crew wanted to get a sense what players go through on a typical gameday. Shooting is scheduled to begin this summer, with the crew filming on location in D.C. for about a month.
No word on whether the Nats will allow Wilson to pitch the ninth inning of actual games to get better acquainted with his role (and to give this team a chance of closing out a win for a change).
