Seamonson: Interim defensive coordinator

← return to D1SCOURSE

Just got out of Ralph Friedgen’s bowl presser – and the line at Steak Escape in the Union – and wanted to pass along the juggled assignments of the coaching staff for the month.

As expected, Al Seamonson will be Maryland’s interim defensive coordinator. He’ll take care of working with all the linebackers, with grad assistant Henry Baker helping with the inside backers.

Meanwhile, Brian White, who’s in his third year with the program, will work with the tight ends. He and Friedgen will collaborate on the special teams.

The moves were needed after defensive coordinator Chris Cosh left for Kansas State and tight ends coach Danny Pearman departed for Clemson last week.

Seamonson, by the way, will be considered for the defensive coordinator vacancy. It’ll be interesting to hear what he has to say about what amount to a four-week audition when we get the chance to talk to him later today.
