Let’s get straight to the important stuff from Ralph Friedgen’s 15-minute chat with beat writers and the Official Dot Com Diva…
That would be injuries – and the Maryland coach sounds reasonably optimistic.
Cornerback Nolan Carroll “was pretty bad after the game” Thursday, but looked better today. He’ll likely be held out of practice tomorrow, but could be back in time for Tuesday’s practice.
Running backs Da’Rel Scott (shoulder) and Cory Jackson (knee) are “no worse for wear” with their respective injuries. Linebacker Moise Fokou and wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey are both “beat up,” though that sounds more like the accumulation of a season of aches and pains. And wideout Torrey Smith’s ankle injury is better, too.
“Overall, we’re probably a little bit better than we were the week before,” Friedgen said.
And that would be welcome news with a pair of ranked teams on tap in the next two weeks at Byrd Stadium.
