Tar Heels' Davis shoots down Tennessee rumors

There might not be another coach in the country who is facing the "will-he-stay-or-will-he-go" questions like North Carolina's Butch Davis.

Certainly, the big opening at Tennessee last week created a stir in Knoxville. And any big name that's out there has a chance to be linked to a school that's won a national title in the last decade or so.

Davis was asked again about the lingering rumors of Tennessee's supposed interest in the second-year coach, who has the No. 17 Tar Heels at 7-2 entering Saturday's visit to Maryland.

"I have absolutely no interest in the University of Tennessee job," Davis said. "It's a great job. I have no interest in it. I've said I love being here, my family loves being at Carolina. ... We're doing everything we can every single day to build a championship program here."
