Delmarva/D.C. rankings

← return to D1SCOURSE

Some ideas here are original. Some are imported but new around here.

And some are just simply expansions, like adding an extra wing to a McMansion.

Such is the case with the Delmarva/D.C. rankings, a weekly attempt to rank the 29 Division I basketball programs in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the District.

It’s not a poll, unless you like the idea of calling an autocratic mechanism where only one person’s vote counts a “poll.” And it probably won’t be as user-friendly as Dan Steinberg’s well-established Atlantic 11 over on the Washington Post’s D.C. Sports Bog, though comments and e-mails and mailbag items are always welcome.

But it is the one place where you’re guaranteed to fetch a mention of Longwood and Maryland-Eastern Shore every week. Every. Single. Week. And if you like the two teams hailing from the First State, well they’re included, too.

I’ll start including some notes once there’s a little more to work with, but for now, a 1-through-29 ranking in full charty glory:
