What’s this? A true road game? Really?
It’s true with half the schedule in the rear view mirror, Maryland will finally play a true road game Wednesday when it visits Miami.
That is the same Miami that, for whatever reason, traditionally serves as a burial ground for the Terps.
ACC expansion occurred in the 2004-05 season when Miami and Virginia Tech joined the league. Maryland hasn’t scratched out a road victory at either place since then.
Of course, the Terps have won everywhere else in the conference since then, which is really sort of bizarre.
Oh, and the way they’ve lost in Coral Gables. A dubious call in 2005. Getting placed in a double-digit hole early on in 2006. Basically sleepwalking last year.
All came in NIT seasons, by the way.
