It’s almost halfway into spring practice, so it’s a good time to check in on any tweaks that might be unfolding.
Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen ran through a bunch of changes the Terps have made in the last few weeks. A rundown:
* Derek Drummond and Masengo Kabongo are basically 1A and 1B at defensive end. Drummond started the spring as the starter.
* It wouldn’t be the spring without a wideout flip. Kevin Dorsey moved from X (behind Torrey Smith and Adrian Cannon) to Z. Emani Lee-Odai went from Z to X.
The point of that move is to get Dorsey into a position where he can play more. It certainly looks like he’ll have a chance to get on the field a ton as a redshirt freshman.
* Another starting timeshare: Lamar Young and Andrew Gonnella at left guard.
* An interesting one: Davin Meggett and Morgan Green splitting second-teams reps at tailback. It would seem Green is looking good this spring, and time is certainly ticking on his chances of playing much with Meggett and Da’Rel Scott sure to be around for the rest of his career,
