There isn't a whole lot to discuss about Maryland's game against Winston-Salem State tomorrow.
No, this is the time of the season where there's much more attention paid to progress made. The scores (beyond simply outscoring an opponent) don't mean as much as improvement.
And it helps to have a full roster complement --- which seems to be the case for the Terrapins.
"Everybody's been healthy through the exam period, so we've had everybody there," coach Gary Williams said. "That's helped us."
Of course, when we last left the Terps 10 days ago, forward Steve Goins was getting shelved for about the seventh time in two seasons with an injury. This time, as was the case many times before: A recurrence of knee pain.
So, I asked Williams if his proclamation of full health meant Goins was back (presumably for a garbage time cameo).
"No, no, I'm not including him," Williams said. "He hasn't played all year."
There's four minutes in Maui that would offset that. But Williams' point remains: Goins hasn't been part of Maryland's rotation yet this year, and it sure doesn't look like he'll be much of a factor going forward, either.
