A basketball schedule nugget finalized today: Georgetown will indeed play Butler in the Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 8 in the 7 p.m. opener of the two-game event. Pittsburgh-Indiana is Game 2.
Maybe this isn't the most high-profile Jimmy V doubleheader ever --- Derrick Rose, O.J. Mayo and Michael Beasley all played in 2007, Stephen Curry was the featured attraction last year --- but the Hoyas taking on a likely top-20 (and possible top-15) team makes that a fascinating game.
Let's put it this way: It's certainly one of the most fascinating non-conference games involving an area team, and it's never quite too soon to start circling those on the calendar.
