Hoyas' Summers to Detroit

← return to D1SCOURSE

Georgetown forward DaJuan Summers tumbled into the second round tonight, going 35th overall to Detroit.

There's a couple ways of looking at Summers' decision to leave a year early. Any time an underclassmen falls out of the first round, there have to be questions about the decision to bolt school.

Summers also went ahead of some other underclassmen who are also highly intriguing pro prospects --- DeJuan Blair, Chase Budinger and Derrick Brown among them. So it could be worse.

In any case, the most compelling local angle of the draft (assuming you don't count Eric Maynor of Virginia Commonwealth as truly local) has been resolved.
