Checking back in on the game-day predictions.

Overall, it was pretty sound work, with four of five correct and the one wrong call still in the right ballpark.

In review:

1. Russell Wilson will throw for 300 yards.

CORRECT. Wilson wound up collecting 343 passing yards and three touchdowns --- as well as three interceptions. Nonetheless, he enjoyed a solid day against the Maryland pass defense that switched to zone to counteract his long-range exploits.

2. Torrey Smith's slump will end.

CORRECT. It's fair to say eight receptions, plus an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown qualifies as the end of his slump. Smith finished with 268 all-purpose yards on the day.

3. Caleb Porzel will score his first career touchdown --- and it'll be from more than 15 yards out.

INCORRECT. But still not too far off. Porzel indeed unfurled Maryland's longest run since Sept. 19. He only got four touches, as the Terps didn't use their tailbacks much while going no-huddle early on.

4. It's going to be close.

CORRECT. For the ninth time in the last 10 meetings, a Maryland-N.C. State game was decided by 10 points or less. This was the eighth time in that stretch the final margin was a touchdown or less.

5. There will be no redshirts burned today. 

CORRECT. Barely. Maryland considered using Danny O'Brien after Chris Turner went down with injury, but stuck with Jamarr Robinson. So as of today, 10 true freshmen have played, with two of them (Bennett Fulper and Isaiah Ross) now done for the season.
