Turner downgraded to doubtful

There’s a slight tick in Maryland quarterback Chris Turner’s status – and it suggests it might be time for the Jamarr Robinson Show against Virginia Tech.

“Chris is doubtful,” coach Ralph Friedgen said. “We’ll have to see at game time how we make that decision.”

Turner suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee late in the second quarter of Saturday’s loss at N.C. State. Robinson replaced him and went the rest of the way.

One other QB note: Friedgen yet again reiterated he was willing to play true freshman Danny O’Brien if he’s needed. Just in case anyone didn’t hear that one of the first five times Friedgen’s said that this week.
