Choi sprains right ankle in win

Greetings from Comcast Center, where a most dangerous game called Survivor: Maryland Frontcourt is underway.

Steve Goins isn't playing because of a chronic knee injury, even though he underwent sugery in August to correct the problem.

And, of course, Dino Gregory is out still with his hush-hushed issues.

So that left the Terps thin up front. Which meant it was time for another issue --- Jin Soo Choi was helped off in the middle of the second half with what was later described as a sprained right ankle.

“It didn’t look good,” said coach Gary Williams. “He was in some pain. Hopefully he can play by Tuesday, but we’ll see.”

The part that didn't look good was that he couldn't put any weight on his right foot.

So that leaves Landon Milbourne, James Padgett and Jordan Williams left in the frontcourt, all of whom will try to make it through the next chapter of Maryland's season without a Wonka Factory-esque disappearance and a serenade from some Oompa-Loompas.

(OK, there were no serenading Oompa-Loompas at Comcast Center tonight. At least that I saw or heard).

It does mean one of two things  --- either it's time to unveil a four-guard set on occasion, or fans might become a little more familiar with Ersin Levent earlier than they ever would have expected.
