Let's start off this entry with a caveat that there are a fair number of names on Maryland's list of 100-yard rushers whose skillsets, frankly, I know nothing about.

Nevertheless, it's a working list from the 2008 Maryland record book. So it's a good place to start.

Furthermore, having what appears to be a fairly reliable list of starting quarterbacks in place, it's possible to come up with the best rushing performances by a Maryland starting quarterback over the years.

And Jamarr Robinson ranks rather high on that list after scampering for 129 yards on 24 carries in yesterday's loss.

So far as I can tell, this is the 100-yard rushing club for starting quarterbacks at Maryland:

132: Jack Scarbath, 1950 vs. Georgetown (W, 25-14)
129: Jamarr Robinson, 2009 vs. Virginia Tech (L, 36-9)
115: Randall Jones, 1998 at Duke (W, 42-25)
105: Shaun Hill, 2001 vs. Duke (W, 59-17)

That's it.

Effectively, Robinson had the second-best rushing day by a quarterback in Maryland history, and in his first career start. And that, despite the Terps' overall dismal performance, is at least something Maryland can take into its final two games as a glimmer of hope.
