Today's practice nuggets

Some odds and ends from Ralph Friedgen’s post-practice media briefing today … all somewhat interesting, none really worth a full entry all their own:

* Friedgen is optimistic safety Jamari McCollough (ankle) will be back for next week’s game against Rutgers, “but I don’t k. McCollough was injured in the first half of the opener at California.

* Straight from Ralph on freshman safety Eric Franklin: “We’re going to probably play him. I don’t think we have a choice.”

* Tony Logan (shoulder) is at about 85 percent, which means Friedgen is inclined to continue splitting punt returns between Anthony Wiseman and Kenny Tate.
