The best news Maryland could have received this week was the return of tackle Bruce Campbell and safety Jamari McCollough.
Sunday, it sounded like a long-shot.
Today, it seems likely.
"I think both of those guys are probable," coach Ralph Friedgen said. "How much they play will probably be a game-time decision. I think both of them are a little further ahead than we thought they'd be."
Campbell played part of the opener at California despite a turf toe injury. McCollough suffered a high ankle sprain in the middle of the first quarter of that game.
If Campbell returns, then the Terps will shift Paul Pinegar back to right tackle and have R.J. Dill come off the bench. If McCollough were to play, it would limit the number of snaps Kenny Tate had to take strictly at safety.
