Every since I was a little boy, Christmas time has always been a time of deep reflections. It creates within me a heightened sense of concern for others. To that point, today I found myself thinking about how tough this season has been for the Redskins. It must be tough for them as they prepare to travel more than 2,000 miles to the west coast to face the 49ers for what equates to nothing more than them fulfilling their obligation of playing a 16-game season. Unfortunately, I know exactly how they feel.

But then I begin to think about the wonderful joy you get by just being a player and more importantly the awesome privilege it is each time you step out on the field and you bring people together around the simple joy of sports. Win or lose, they bring a level of happiness to their fans and their city. So, I’d like take this time to say to the entire Redskins organization: players, coaches, front office, public relations, the film crew, trainers, equipment staff and everyone else that helped to bring us the incredible joy and entertainment of Redskins football this season, "THANK YOU FOR WORKING HARD FOR US IN 2008 STAY SAFE DURING THIS LAST GAME AND MAY 2009 BE YOUR YEAR GOD BLESS”. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

Looks like they didn't say "Thank you Back" by going out to San Fran and losing!
