Obama drops his father

As the battle between John McCain and Barack Obama for Hispanic votes heats up, it raises the question of what relates better, an immigrant father or an absentee father? For Obama, the answer is an absentee father.

This morning Obama's campaign e-mailed reporters the script for his first Spanish-language radio ad of the general election, designed to portray him as sharing the same experiences as many Latino voters, and it included these lines:

"His father was an immigrant. His mother from a humble, middle class family. Through student loans and hard work, he graduated from college.

Obama never pulled people down as he made his way up…"

But about an hour later the campaign sent out what it said was the final script, which changed those lines to read:

"He grew up without a father — raised by his mother with the support of his grandparents.

Through student loans and hard work, he graduated from college.

Obama never forgot his roots…"

On a conference call with reporters, the Obama campaign said the first version was a draft.

Rep. Xavier Becerra, a campaign surrogate, told reporters the ad was designed to show Obama was "one of us" because "his experience is our experience."

The full scripts follow below:

First draft:

“Bootstraps”

[VO:] Some people have power and connections.

But most of us have to make our own way through life.

This is true even for the man who could become the next President … Barack Obama.

His father was an immigrant. His mother from a humble, middle class family. Through student loans and hard work, he graduated from college.

Obama never pulled people down as he made his way up…

He worked with churches to help families get job training and after-school care for their children.

In the State Senate, he passed a law that helped reduce the welfare roles by over 80% by helping families to secure jobs.

And despite the political pressure, Obama has stood with us for immigration reform and spoke out for our veterans.

It’s time we had a President who understands we all deserve a chance to make our own way.

Final script:

Obama already promised he would give the millions of illegal aliens , squatting in this nation AMNESTY? McCain will do likewise to get the vote in November. We must pass the SAVE ACT before this happens. Afterwards will be too late for overburdened taxpayers, who will have to support them. Plus the millions more who will think it's 'open day' from the third world countries. If it's something to do with enforcing our immigration laws, the special interest lobby will crawl out of the sewer to stop its enactment. Just like the SAVE ACT (H.R.4088) a Federal bill, the laggard Democrats don't want voted into law. Corruption has manifested itself, as house Speaker Nancy Pelosi has used intimidation to stop her clan from endorsing this legislation. Ice has a free Tipline: 1-866-DHS-2ICE for intelligence to locate illegal aliens, or predatory businesses that employ them. Predatory employers would be arrested, fined and possibly imprisoned and millions of illegal aliens would leave of their own accord. It would give (ICE) more funding and build the US border patrol up to 20.000 more agents in strength, build the fence as originally intended. This national law would also begin to remove criminal aliens from our society. It would give extra teeth to all immigration laws now on the books. Demand the SAVE ACT! What a tear jerker. In reality, Obama's father, a Marxist, was already married to someone else when he married Obama's socialist white mother. There was nothing humble about his parents. Obama got himself as affirmative action education at Harvard and left there a hopeless, liberal. Obama knows nothing about the average, hard working, patriotic American. He is a complete fraud.

Selective memory is wonderful. Barack Obama's life in Indonesia is invisible. Yet it occurred during a critical stage of his life. His experience as a member of a Muslim family and life in Indonesia till age 11 is erased. Hmm! Early childhood development experts say the following about character development. School Age (latency age 5-12) 1. Learning how to use our minds and muscles with a sense of confidence (competence) vs. Inferiority/inertia - giving up or taking the initiative to live up to one's potential 2. On becoming oneself and having pleasure outside the family (I am what I learn) the world as a place to make things together: The Work Group 3. Gender identity elaborated by identification with same sex parent. http://ocw.tufts.edu/Content/35/lecturenotes/376171 You have to wonder what roots he is remembering. Stay tuned for the next episode.

Selective memory is wonderful. Dishonest ads are propaganda Barack Obama's childhood in Indonesia as a member of a traditional Muslim family till age 11 is hidden from the public. Yet it occurred during a sensitive stage of his development as a person. His life in Indonesia occurred at a critical time when life long personality traits are developed. An old saying goes "As the twig is bent so grows the tree." Childhood development experts say the following about character development. "School Age (latency age 5-12) 1. Learning how to use our minds and muscles with a sense of confidence (competence) vs. Inferiority/inertia - giving up or taking the initiative to live up to one's potential 2. Barack Obama's character was shaped in his childhood by a mother who was an atheist, his natural father who was a Muslim, his stepfather who was a Muslim, and his grandfather who . Barack Obama attended a Catholic school for two years and a mixed mostly Muslim school till age 11. Barack Obama was formed as a person before his mother left him to live with his grandparents in Hawaii. Stay tuned for the next episode.

Websurfer, your fear would be laughable if it weren't so tragic. There is no such thing as a "typical muslim family"! That's like lumping the 1 billion so called christians from lebanon to brazil to middle america to california to the philippines to russia and pretending there is one way in which they are all raised. And you have obviously never been to Indonesia! Indonesians are some of the nicest, friendliest, and most positive people you will ever meet. Right up there with the Filipinos. Sure they are nominally muslim, but you have no idea what that even means. Only what fear-mongering and newspaper selling propagandists want you to believe. My only experience with their religion was a couple times a year, my indonesian friends would ask me to forgive them for any way in which they had wronged me. Christians could learn from this humility. As far as I'm concerned the longer Obama spent in Indonesia the better. I wish I could have spent some formative years there. I'm a McCain supporter, born and raised in Alabama and I work for the military, but I just can't stand for you to be bashing Indonesians or even muslims, especially those who are very secular, such as the Indonesians. So stop attacking Obama for where he was raised, and start attacking his backwards positions that are relics of the '60s.
