Despite being arrears in taxes and potentially in violation of license laws for being a plumber — or maybe because of that — some folks say Joe the Plumber, real name Joe Wurzelbacher, is needed in Congress.
Yes, http://www.joewurzelbacher2010.com/ has already been registered by Trevor Lair, chairman of the Massachusetts Alliance of College Republicans.
"Washington DC is broken and it needs to be fixed, Joe Wurzelbacher has a real-world perspective and the right attitude to clean up the mess on Capitol Hill," Lair said. He wants to recruit Joe to run against Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a leader among progressive House Democrats.
Given Joe's treatment during his first, unwitting foray into politics, here's betting he takes a pass. Besides, if he does manage to buy the plumbing business, he might make more than members of Congress.
