Caps recall four

← return to In The Room

Sorry for the delay (nothing beats coming back to work and having technical issues). The Caps added defensemen Karl Alzner and Sami Lepisto and forwards Chris Bourque and Graham Mink from Hershey this morning. They are all here on the ice. To make the necessary room – both in cap space and on the 23-man roster – Jeff Schultz and Chris Clark have been placed on long-term injury reserve. Schultz is having surgery on his broken finger today, and Clark is out with a stress fracture in his forearm. Both are gone until at least Dec. 19, but the Caps are allowed to replace their salaries, so there is plenty of room for the four new guys. Alexander Semin and Mike Green have been put on injured reserve, but retroactively so they are eligible to come off Friday. All seven guys that are injured (Semin, Green, Fedorov, Erksine, Gordon, Clark and Schultz) are not playing tonight. Here are the lines on the ice right now: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Kozlov Fleischmann-Nylander-Fehr Bourque-Laich-Bradley Mink-Steckel-Brashear More to come after the skate is over.
