First, Bruce Boudreau said he didn't much more to report yet on Quintin Laing. He was complaining about this abs after the game, but head trainer Greg Smith and the Tampa Bay team physician identified that it wasn't his abs pretty quickly. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at a local hospital, and a team representative will stay here with him while the team travels to Raleigh.
Second, Boudreau said they wanted Mike Green to take the day off and then see where he is at tomorrow. He said if it were up to Green, he would play but the team wants to make the best decision for the rest of the season and the playoffs.
It is clearly a rib/abdomen/side issue for Green.
Third, Boudreau said he had a talk with Alex Ovechkin about the goal celebration. He didn't want to divulge what he said, but it is safe to say he doesn't expect to see something like that again.
That's all for the news-y portion of the day. I'm off to the airport. Check tomorrow's paper for story on Simeon Varlamov, who continues to impress in his limited NHL action.
