A Russian political analyst has predicted the breakup of the United States, the Drudge Report is reporting.

Apparently, the analyst is basing his prediction on a books and white papers that have recently become available in Russia. The documents — written by American politicians, professors and pundits — were originally published in 1859.

The Analyst gets a lot of basic facts wrong which pretty much undermine his conclusions. For example, he makes the incorrect statement that Alaska was leased from Russia rather than purchased. Alaska was sold outright to the US.
