A new Web site is displaying photos of gastronomic grotesqueries such as an Oreo with 2 feet of cream filling to drive home the impact of America's obesity epidemic, Time is reporting.
The Web site proclaims "This is why you're fat," saying that the media's reliance on showing pudgy pedestrians from the head down are too subtle. So it seeks and displays photos of high-calorie meals from across the country.
Among the offerings:
The Bacon Explosion Wellington -- two pounds of bacon woven around two pounds of sausage, covered in barbecue sauce and wrapped in croissant dough.
The Garbage Plate -- a combination of cheeseburger, Italian sausages, steak, chicken, a grilled cheese sandwich, fried fish or eggs served on home fries, beans or mac salad.
Corn Dog Pizza -- a large cheese pizza served with six to eight corn dogs on it.
The food displayed on the site has enough grease in it to lube my car.
I consider myself a big eater, but I can't imagine anyone actually eating any of the food displayed on this site. Any mammal, that is.
It's kinda like food porn -- only they've taken it WAY too far.
