Dixon glad to be back home

Juan Dixon just spoke to the media here at Verizon Center and it's clear to see the former Terp is glad to be back with the team that drafted him 17th overall in 2002.

"I'm very excited. It's a good opportunity to play close to home and for me to resume my career with the Wizards, its a lot of fun," Dixon said. "I feel very comfortable. Very familiar with the system, a couple of the players that were here when I was here before are still here. I'm excited, Coach [Eddie Jordan] is excited so I'm glad to be here."

Dixon said that after three seasons away from the District he "didn't realize how good I had it here," so he hopes to take advantage of this opportunity and views this second stint with the Wizards as a chance to rejuvenate himself and his career.

Dixon said that after he heard that Roger Mason Jr. had signed with the Spurs, he quickly became optimistic about a chance to return to the Wizards. Some point during the summer, in which he trained the majority of the time at Verizon Center, he told Ernie Grunfeld he would like to come back.

"Roger and I are similar players. He's a little bigger than me, but we can do the same type of things off the bench, so I felt confident that I'd have a good chance to come back here," Dixon said. "I'm grateful that Ernie wanted to bring me back here."
