Wizards center Brendan Haywood has an appointment with a hand specialist in New York, where he will have his sprained right wrist evaluated. Haywood, who was having a fine training camp, suffered the sprain last Thursday. Word was then that he would be out for a week and then be re-evaluated.
I spoke to Brendan on Saturday and he said there was no major swelling in his wrist at the time, just soreness. I'm not sure whether that changed or not. But team spokesman Scott Hall said tonight that the trip to NY isn't an unexpected development.
I'll keep you updated on any developments.
In other Wizards news, the remainder of the Wizards' preseason games can be heard on 570 AM and 1260 AM instead of ESPN 980. The games also will air on the Baltimore affiliate, Fox 1370.
