> Big, big win for the Wizards today over the Cavaliers, maybe not so much in the grand scheme of the whole season, but you never know. It could be the turnaround. Either way, the Wizards desperately needed to be able to close out a game, and they found a way to do so today EVEN after blowing a 16-point fourth-quarter lead.

"Hopefully this is the thing, or THE game that will get us going with some momentum. You have quality teams like the Lakers game come in here and then to fall short, to get a win like this against a real quality team, hopefully it gives us momentum and shows us that we have what it takes in this locker room if we keep playing scrappy and continue to get rebounds, maybe we can win some quality games."

> Big props to Dominic McGuire on the first double-double of his career with 10 points and 10 rebounds. He has a battle wound to show for it, too. While going up for his 10th rebound he got scratched just below his left eye by LeBron. It still had a bloody scratch there after the game, but no foul was called.

> Ed Tapscott's quote of the game today was simply one word, "Redemption" and it wasn't attributed to anyone. The Wizards certainly redeemed themselves from the Christmas Day collapse, and Mike James said "That quote today seemed to do it for us. Maybe we need another three or four redemptions up there."

> Nick Young finished with eight points on 4-for-10 shooting, but three of his baskets came during the stretch late in the third quarter when the Cavaliers tried to mount a comeback. Cleveland cut the lead to 58-54, then Young hit a running jump shot, then an 18-footer and later a left-handed layup with 17.7 seconds left in the quarter to give Washington a 68-54 lead.
