PHOENIX -- Mike Miller rejoined his teammates in Phoenix and did some shooting and light running before the Wizards' blowout loss to the Suns and said his healing strained calf feels good.
After the game, Miller said that he hopes to be cleared to practice and play some time in the next two weeks. He was hoping for this week and said watching these losses is only making it harder on him.
Miller half-joked that if things keep up like this, he'll have to force his way back onto the court.
Meanwhile, backup point guard Javaris Crittenton has been hoping to get back on the court in the near future and has been gradually ramping up his activity. But Friday night in the locker room at Golden State he looked like he had lost his best friend.
I asked him what was wrong and he said the intense pain in his left ankle and foot had flared back up again and he was back to struggling to push off the foot. He was obviously frustrated because this has dragged on since training camp, he underwent what he viewed as a useless exploratory surgery, and now things haven't gotten any better.
Saturday before the Suns game, Crittenton tried to do some light running while dribbling the ball, but he was pretty gimpy, so he just settled for taking set shots.
"I'm in a tough spot," said Crittenton, who already is buried on the depth chart and will be a free agent this summer but so far hsa nothing to show for that would convince either the Wizards or some other team to offer him a contract.
