Some interesting background today from Danny Smith, the Redskins special teams coach.
Then-Seahawks QB coach Jim Zorn was in Mobile, Ala. for the Senior Bowl in January when he first learned that the Redskins were interested in him becoming their offensive coordinator.
Danny Smith was having lunch with Zorn when his cellphone rang with a call from Redskin Park. It seems that the powers-that-be wanted to know if Smith could locate his former Detroit Lions colleague to talk about coming to Washington.
So Smith passed the phone over to Zorn and in less than a month, his old pal was his new boss.
