A team source confirmed a report on Pro Football Talk that left tackle Chris Samuels had elbow surgery this week.
The operation was on Monday and the source said Samuels had loose particles cleaned out of the elbow.
Samuels, who participated in all of the Redskins’ OTAs, will resume weight-lifting next week.
Also, the team released the early portion of their training camp schedule today. Eight practices -- all at 8:30 a.m. -- will be open during the first 10 days of camp. Fan Day is Saturday, July 26 and will feature a 2 p.m. intra-squad scrimmage.
