Portis says he's playing

Some post-practice items where the main speakers were Clinton Portis and Jim Zorn.

*Portis sat out the workout but his left knee and right leg and whatever else is ailing him were well enough for him to be watching the workout, something he didn't do last Wednesday and Thursday.

"It's coming along -- it's sore," he said. "I compare it to last week and it's better than it was. I'll be playing this week. No ifs, ands or buts about it."

*More injury news -- judging by Zorn's comments, I expect Shawn Springs to return after a four-game absence but don't expect Marcus Washington and Anthony Montgomery to play.

*Before a team meeting Wednesday morning, Zorn took down a collage of pictures featuring Sean Taylor and brought them into the auditorium. The one-year mark of Taylor's death is next week.

I wanted to make sure these guys knew he was the kind of player that they wanted to practice like and play like and thats part of the memory we need to keep alive on this team the kind of player he was, Zorn said. Next week, things are going to be a little tender. I wanted to make sure I brought it up now so it wouldnt catch anybody by surprise next week.

*Former Maryland player Josh Wilson has worked his way into the Seattle starting lineup at right cornerback, replacing Kelly Jennings in Week 6.

A second-year player, Wilson has 52 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Josh has done great hes really improved, Seattle coach Mike Holmgren said. Hes made big plays in the return game [fourth in NFC on kickoff returns] and with the interceptions.
