Samuels hurt

← return to Redskins 360

Left tackle Chris Samuels has gone to the locker room with a knee injury. Samuels, who hasn't missed a game since 2003, has been replaced by Jason Fabini, a career right tackle who pinch-hit well at right guard last year. Stephon Heyer, who took Samuels' place when the Pro Bowl pick was sidelined in preseason 2007 with a sprained knee, is inactive with a sprained shoulder.

The Redskins, who didn't turn the ball over on offense in an NFL-record five games to start the season, just committed their third of the half. Oshiomogho Atgowe just returned Pete Kendall's fumble75 yards to put the Rams ahead 10-7. Kendall had grabbed the ball when Jason Campbell's pass was deflected. Earlier, Chris Cooley fumbled after an 11-yard catch and Campbell and center Casey Rabach crossed wires on a snap.
