Busy day over

← return to Redskins 360

Its official the Redskins have made their first three roster moves of the regular season. In: Running back Shaun Alexander, punter Ryan Plackemeier and safety Mike Green. Cut: Punter Durant Brooks and safety Justin Hamilton. Placed on injured reserve: Safety Reed Doughty. The only surprising news came earlier this afternoon when Doughty confirmed he had been put on IR, which ends his season. He had missed only one game with his back injury but the injury is evidently serious enough to end his season. All three newcomers played last year for the Seattle Seahawks, whose staff included Redskins coach Jim Zorn and assistant head coach-running backs Stump Mitchell.
