Finally, some news coming out of the Park although none of it is coming from the front office. Reserve safety Justin Hamilton said he's been released and in the process, revealed that safety Reed Doughty has been placed on injured reserve with a back injury.
Hamilton was inactive the last four games and said he was "shocked" he lasted the first six weeks.
"It was something I could see coming, probably not today but before the end of the season because I was basically stealing paychecks," he said. "I didn’t do anything. I put on a sweatsuit on gamedays."
Doughty confirmed the move to IR. He had missed only one game with the nerve problem in his back (which was causing foot numbness).
The moves leave only three healthy safeties on the roster: LaRon Landry, Chris Horton and Kareem Moore so I expect the Redskins to make a move there. The Redskins currently have 51 players on the 53-man roster.
