Doughty, M. Williams on I.R.

Safety Reed Doughty and guard Mike Williams have become the 11th and 12th players on Washington's injured reserve list.

Doughty suffered a high right ankle sprain while Williams tore a muscle in his right foot in last Sunday's 17-0 loss to Dallas.

They join right guards Randy Thomas and Chad Rinehart, left tackle Chris Samuels, tight end Chris Cooley, running backs Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts and safety Chris Horton as starters whose seasons were ended by injuries.

The other Redskins on injured reserve are quarterback Colt Brennan, fullback Eddie Williams and defensive end Jeremy Jarmon.

Washington replaced Doughty and Mike Williams on the roster with running back P.J. Hill and cornerback Marcus McCauley.

The 5-foot-10, 218-pound Hill is the second rookie free agent  the Redskins have signed off Philadelphia's practice squad during the last six weeks, following guard Paul Fanaika. Hill, who was on the Eagles' active roster for seven weeks was in uniform for one game but didn't play. He was previously on New Orleans' practice squad.

Hill and former Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne are Wisconsin  running backs to gain more than 1,000 yards in each of their first three seasons. 

The 6-foot, 203-pound McCauley has played in 27 games with Detroit and Minnesota while also spending time with New Orleans and Tampa Bay. He made nine of his 10 starts as a third-round draft pick out of Fresno State for the 2007 Vikings, making 64 tackles and defensing eight passes.

Doughty, a Redskins' sixth-round pick in 2006, established career highs in starts (nine), tackles (93), and special teams tackles (21) this year. He was injured while returning his first career interception.

Williams, chosen fourth overall in 2002 by Buffalo, had been out of the NFL for three years before the Redskins signed him in April when he weighed 415 pounds. He dropped 80 pounds and wound up starting eight games in his first action since 2005, his last season with the Bills.
