Old friend Jason Taylor has broken his silence about returning to the Miami Dolphins on a one-year deal that required him to take a pay cut of nearly $6.5 million he was scheduled to earn with the Redskins this year.
Talking to the Miami Herald, Taylor said his forgettable season with the Redskins was a debacle.
"It felt like five years, to be honest," Double Nickel said.
Taylor and the Redskins parted ways this offseason and he returned to the Dolphins last week. He participated in the Fins' OTA on Tuesday.
It's becoming clear Taylor quickly regretted his decision to alienate Bill Parcells to the point where he was traded to the Redskins for second and sixth-round choices.
"I don't want to slight the Redskins in any way," he said. "There were a few guys I was close to on the team up there that knew where I was throughout the whole process from the minute I got on the plane to go to D.C. last year. I'll leave it at that."
Translation: Taylor didn't want to be here but didn't want to retire and leave money on the table, either.
Taylor also complained about the "snow." My memory is that there was no snowfall from September-December in the area.
